Political absurdity is rampant in the United States of America. I can confidently say this, and I know that most everyone will agree with me. It’s not difficult to see it. Look no further than the 2020 Presidential debates to see an in-your-face manifestation of how absurd politics have become. It’s difficult to watch, and watch I must, or risk my window of opportunity to escape this shit show. Hopefully, we, the people, can turn a corner and get the chaos monkeys off our back before our republic crumbles.
Lobbyists
Most US citizens already know that lobbying is the only way to get anything done in congress. Unsurprisingly guns, money, and big pharma are the biggest spenders with the most control over our lives. Our leaders, if you want to call them that, are bought and paid for.
Our constitution prohibits us from exposing or prohibiting firms from using money as speech. Citizens United successfully opened the floodgates for corporate spending on political candidates. We are stuck in a situation that makes money the great decider in our elections; therefore, rich people often represent us. Rich people are out of touch with the pain and suffering of their constituents. People with power are at war with the poor, and anyone else that eats any of the pie they have hoarded. They will do anything to siphon your tax dollars to their bank accounts.
Adding insult to injury, we get the privilege of paying for the people we want in office through donations. Without donations, a candidate will never win an election. We are spammed with candidate ads across the country, and we’re constantly asked to dip into our savings shortly after the last election. It’s nauseating, exhausting, and untenable.
Political Consultants
Political consulting firms set the stage for both parties to get what they want. In most cases, they want more power and access to tax dollars that provide power. These consultants scheme in their private rooms and look for ways to thwart the will of the people. Reams of statistics and loads of cash are spent to save millions and even billions by subverting democracy. It’s on display everywhere, and we’re being taken to the cleaners by these parasites.
Fighting Back
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough. I’m ready to expose these con artists, grifters, and swindlers for who they are. I’m ready to save the republic with facts, reason, and science. Are you?
