The United States Congress needs accountability, and it needs it now.
I’ve had enough of the rules for thee not-for-me game; how about you? I peer from the sidelines of America and see a bunch of assholes getting away with everything.
There’s a long-form Wikipedia page that describes charges against Donald Trump, for fucks sake! And now Axios is reporting on Trump’s crusade to fire 50,000 civil servants across the federal government. How in the actual fuck is this piece of shit getting away with this?
Not Just Trump
Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi is engaging in insider trading and gives zero fucks about it. I wrote about weaselly snakes like Scott Pruitt, who spent 58,000 tax pair dollars to fly around like he was a billionaire last year; they’re everywhere!
Mark my words, if Trump somehow skates by all the charges against him and wins the 2020 election, the United States is done. We’ll wind up with a few nation states that can ineptly sustain themselves and we’ll have guerrilla warfare in the streets. It’s time for action, and the time is now.
How Do We Make Congress Accountable?
That’s the million-dollar question; how do we may Congress accountable?
Some fine people on Quora have some ideas, but none of them look actionable. The best we can do now is research candidates before voting for them. Alongside that, we need to hold our noses and vote for candidates that believe in Democracy that the rule of law. It’s disturbing how many congressional members are avowed nationalists ready to take their country back by force.
Unfortunately, there are no silver bullet political candidate research solutions. However, If we, the people, empower ourselves and simplify the proc,ess we can eliminate corrupt politicians and have a fighting chance to save the republic.
I hope enough of us wake up and smell insurrection 2.0.
