Politics is supposed to be boring. Annoyingly verbose walls of legal text with drawn-out debates are boring AF. That’s a good thing. Politics should be a meticulous process of poring over failed and successful policies to pick the least harmful policy.
The problem is that politics is a form of entertainment. The news and debates are low-quality entertainment. Politicians are entertainers, and the voters are fans. The whole thing is a circus, and it’s destroying the United States of America.
Oligargic Idiocracy
If you’ve seen Idiocracy, you know it’s a comedy that became a documentary. The movie is about a future where corporations run the world, and the government is a joke. The president is a former professional wrestler, and the most popular TV show is “Ow, My Balls!”
Sound familiar?

President Donald Trump’s 2024 administration includes several rich individuals in key positions.
Here are some of the wealthiest members and their estimated net worths:
- Elon Musk, Co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency: Approximately $400 billion.
- Charles Kushner, U.S. Ambassador to France: Approximately $7.1 billion.
- Donald Trump, President: Approximately $6.2 billion.
With a combined net worth of over $413 billion, these three individuals account for nearly 90% of the administration’s total wealth.
However, they are not the only wealthy members of the administration.
The combined net worth of the Trump administration is approximately $436 billion, which is just the tip of the iceberg of rich politicians.
These are the 1% of the 1%. They don’t care about you or me. They care about themselves and their rich friends. They’re not interested in governing but in making money and staying in power.
The United States is an Oligarchic Idiocracy. The government is run by an exclusive group of wealthy idiots who control everything. The rest of us are passengers on the struggle bus. We’re left to be entertained by a reality TV game show host who became president with a cabinet full of clowns like Elon Musk wielding a chainsaw on stage and billionaires in space attending inaugurations while the world burns. 🔥

What Was It Like Before?
Believe it or not, there was a time when politics and the news were boring. Nobody cared what the first lady was wearing, the latest tweet, or how many followers they had.
He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 15, 2025
The news was just the news. It was dry, dull, and mostly factual. The debates were long, drawn out, and full of policy discussions. The politicians were serious, boring, and mostly honest. Heck, President Bill Clinton was almost impeached for lying about getting a blowjob. That’s how boring it was.

Why Does It Matter?
It matters because when politics becomes entertainment, the truth is lost. The facts are blurred when the news becomes just another reality TV show. When politicians are entertainers, their policies get lost in the noise. When voters are fans instead of informed and engaged citizens, the country suffers fools voting for fools.
What Can We Do?
We can prioritize voting for knowledgeable candidates with valuable experience rather than political entertainers. Instead of relying on talking heads in the news, we can explore diverse sources of information. Rather than following politicians on social media, we can pay attention to their voting records. It’s time to move from being fans to acting as engaged citizens.
Call to Action
Let’s make politics boring again by voting for individuals focused on competence over charisma. We need leaders with the skills and experience necessary to implement policies effectively. It’s essential to prioritize the nation’s needs rather than personal ambition. We can elect dedicated individuals committed to the difficult work of governance instead of merely seeking the spotlight.
Maybe then, we can save the republic.
